35mm tells another special tale through its grain. Images composed of grain are not one whole, as we mentioned above. The 'imperfection' of 35mm - its grain, especially when blown up – hints at a timeless truth about experiences, which is that they ‘come together’; they are composed of parts and moments. The photographic image, held up so proudly to be a static and true representation of the seen world, speaks to us in its stillness of something ultimately fleeting and transparent, like grains of sand passing through our fingers. < home
